Have you heard of someone say 'I'm going to spend this summer with my family'? Or maybe you at some point said you were going to see your family? If so have you digged alittle deeper in the phrase family? If you're wondering of why I'm talking abaut family today well because i got a comment on one of my campaign which i recently posted on webnovel, one of the fan commented what family really is and others took her idea cornering me as at the moment i didn't know what to really say so i gave them the answer i always believed, here is what i said 'Family is anyone who cares so much for you making sure you're socially, mentally, emotionally and physical stable', i don't know if i wad rigjt but that's how i understand the phrase family or else we could just use blood-related if people think family are the people we are blood relatated to. In todays world even your blood related people can betray you in a way that even a stranger will never even do, that's the reason i say family is a person who will go depths to protect you and the readon we call our husbands/wifes family or you want to say they are blood related to you too? There's this myth which goes like 'Blood is thicker then water', Its time i break and make it clear since many believe that your mother, father, siblings, relatives and the list goes on but limited to the ones blood related to only, forgetting that we call our spouses family or we blood related to our spouses. Without wasting time we gonna look a closer look In each party how we really related too Parents, Siblings, Relatives, Spouses, Kids and Friend's , i hope by the end of this post you'll learn a thing or two.
PARENTS
Now before we look at others, i thought this is the most important of them all, as we are talking abaut your mother and father here, the ones who brought you to earth, it is true no one can ever replace mother/fathers love and care but tge are in some cases where by these people or one of them does not really care for you, they can even terminate you if possible Now such people can not be called family or can they?. One or both of them can treat you like complete trash or even worse, before you can confuse yourself yes there's parents protection can make you feel like they don't care for you at all, trust me this protection will make you later realise thst it was for the best and because they care for you. I still remember the times i use to fail maths, my parents would force me to attend extra classes and spend my sumners with books and tutors, although my siblings had fun, they would take my phone aways. I always felt bad somehow concluded they didn't care for me at all, but as i grew older i realised all they did was for my own benefit and cause they actually cared. You can tell the difference between parents who care and those who don't, this no care parents don't deserve to be called family really, just people we know or are related too, Period!
SIBLINGS
Just because she/he is your sister/brother does not mean the person automatically becomes family no this people need to care and value you too, for the time being consider them blood-related beacause nowadays your own brother/sister can sell you off for money, fame or whatever they desire. Be very careful before calling your sister/brother family or giving too much trust to them, there's even a story that happened where by a sister kidnapped and murdered her brothers daughter see so scary, these people can stab you in the back too
RELATIVES
In general, relatives are people you are related to by your parents, this people can be your Aunt, Uncle, Cousin, Grandparents and so forth. Just like siblings these people need to be tested too before being trusted and call them fully family, they can betray you too, test them if possible. I also know the are relatives who care for you even more than your own parents, make sure you preserve this wonderful souls as the are rare. For me if i was to say Abaut a relative who cares let me not say more but equally like my parents then it's my uncle, my mothers last born brother damn, he's been so supportive i don't even know how to repay him only the Almighty can.
SPOUSES
Now this people we are not blood relatively but the are even the one's i see stick more than your parents, siblings or friends as the have no limits, the fact that we leave our parents to go live with our spouses which we call 'Start a Family', this people can be calked family if they care for us Ofcourse. Now remember the are those spouses who don't care about us at all, in some cases abuses us either physically or emotionally. Physical is through beating victims of this are commonly women whereas emotionally goes for men, imagine having a wife who demands for more, you give but to her it's like you ain't giving at all, she never appreciates you and always want to argue with you even on petty issues, i don't even know why we still with people like this. Inshort this people don't care so don't deserve the family title.
CHILDREN
I don't even know how to say this as it may sound impossible and ridiculous for your own child not to care or love you at all, but let's be realistic things like this are happening this days, how many times have it been reported on the television or radio of a mother or father being beaten or murdered by own child. Don't be confused this usually happens due to todays changed society but if you realise it earlier than try to seek for psychological/medical attention for your child as earlier as possibleas it can be caused by some mental disorders, But the are this ones which have a possibility of adopting it from a teenage age or just how they feel is right, for this people if they try to create their own lives excluding you as their parent then just consider them dead too, it will hurt but God you are protecting yourself.
FRIENDS
'A friend that stick closer than a brother', I'm sure you have heard or come accross this quote which i strongly agree with, although as for me upto today my sister (my mom's second born, I'm the third) is my best friend she knows almost all my secrets accept for this blog ofcourse, but will tell her soon, just like my bigger sister (the first born) says mom is her best friend, i bet mom knows all her secrets. But I've heard of people call their friends sister/brother, seen posts on Facebook and statuses where they say their friends are even more than their sister/brother, that's why i say blood relations aren't really everything in todays wolrd, as long as they care they are family.
End of discussion, pray for me so that mom or any of my sisters don't find this post as I'll be in deep trouble. Wa just telling the truth though, Remember give inorder to receive, first love to be loved back. Don't always expect from others, let others expect from you too.
